Karol Suarez

Karol Suárez is a Venezuelan journalist, field producer, and reporter for CNN, based in Mexico, covering Latin America. She specializes in immigration, security, and politics, reporting on major stories across the region, focusing on breaking news and in-depth storytelling.

Karol is an Emmy-nominated journalist for her coverage of the immigration crisis at both the U.S. and Mexico’s southern borders. Her reporting has taken her to some of Latin America’s most complex and high-stakes environments, where she has covered breaking news, investigative pieces, and feature stories.

Beyond daily news coverage, Karol has been recognized for her feature work, winning two Telly Awards—one for a cultural report on Mexico’s bullfighting tradition and another for a business feature on the rise of women in the mezcal industry.

She holds a degree in journalism from Yacambú University and has built her career telling impactful stories that transcend borders. Karol is fluent in English and a native Spanish speaker.
